When Langston Hughes finishes high school he moves with his father. While he is on the train he decides to write a poem. Also as well while in Mexico his father agrees to support him in his education career, but with a career in studying engineering. By his father helping him out with his education he was able to learn more and help him out with his writing.
After joining Columbia university Langston liked Harlem and its goods vibes but did not like the discrimination he was getting at the university and left after just one year at the school. This impacted him because he finally got his first taste of discrimination couldn't support it.
Langston after leaving university got a job on a ship and was able to travel around the world.This gave him a new experience and gave him a chance to see the world.
While living in Washington working at the Wardman Park Hotel was able to meet a very famous poet Vachel Linsay while dinning in the restaurant. He slipped some poems to he and after that he was in touch with editors of Knopf. This was important in his life because it was his very first big break because he was in touch with a very big and good source to for what he wanted to do when he got older.
Langston Hughes first big break was in 1926 when Alfred A. Knopf published his first book of, a poetry collection, named The Weary Blues. This was a very big break for him because it was a lift off on his career. This gave him a lot of experience and big publicity.
