I AM

I am Black.
I am a writer.
I am a nephew of an ex-slave owner.
I am an educated man.
I am a man with cancer.

All this helped out Langston Hughes because first of all being black at this time period was very difficult because of racism and segregation. So, with this racism and segregation he was not allowed to published book and poems. Also being nephew of an ex-slave owner gave him a chance of know what it was like in being both cultures as in white and black. Him being educated gave him an opportunity that other black people in his community couldn't get. Also being educated could of inspired other black people in his community and help out and inspire other people in his community. Him having cancer probably inspired him to be more artistic and have more of a thrive to do and finish more works before he died so his legacy could live on forever.
