Our group chose this song http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVHOqrw3Jks A better place sang by Playing for life for our poem Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. We believe this sing was perfect for the poem because they both dream of being in a better and happier place. The video is sang by musicians around the world to inspire and say that through music people can come together to make this world a better place. In the poem it talks about leaving the place where the smoke blows black to the place where the sidewalk ends where the grass grows soft and white and the sun burns crimson bright. They both a want a change for good.
My group is : Esme Fernandez, Antonio Pereyra, Ronaldo Rendon, Erica L. Ceballos and myself Jonatan Pacheco

My feelings on finals
Finals, a way for teachers to see what you have learned through out the first and then second semester. It has students stressing over classes, grades, etc. Students should not be stressed at this early stage. We are all 14-18 years of age and stressing like a 40 year old. Finals just should not be a thing.

Questions about my poem
This poem title gives me the idea that it is not only the ideas you get on the spot but the ideas you get when you think harder and get when you aren't thinking about it. The tone in this poem is very bland and mind twisting. The mood for me is depressing.
My poem "Out Beyond Ideas" by Mewlana Jalaludin Rumi
Out Beyond Ideas
By Mewlana Jalaludin Rumi
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn’t make any sense.

My thoughs on Problems by Langston Hughes
I chose this poems because it makes you think about a simple problem to a much more extent. Also it's a poem that made me think, so that's the reason I liked it. Hopefully Dr.Preston could help me with a deeper meaning to this poem.
Problems by Langston Hughes
2 and 2 are 4.
4 and 4 are 8.
But what would happen
If the last 4 was late?
And how would it be
If one 2 was me?
Or if the first 4 was you
Divided by 2?
4 and 4 are 8.
But what would happen
If the last 4 was late?
And how would it be
If one 2 was me?
Or if the first 4 was you
Divided by 2?
Righetti High School at its lowest
Today was one of the lowest day we have ever had at Righetti since I've been there. I am disappointed in what happened. Cops were assaulted by student for the reason that they "Had there friend's back." in a fight. Was it worth being punched in the face.
Now there is 6 students in custody. One student was found with a knife in his backpack. For what purpose did this students do this who knows but it's there opinion they wanted to do it now it's there consequences.
Now our school is all over the Santa Barbara County news, Saint Louis Obispo County, and Los Angeles area news. Our school is now a mockery in the eyes of places around our area and for what cause none what so ever.

Colaberating across the world
Today we had a colaberate talk with some students and professor from great Britain. They where at the University of Chichester, a school of music, skyping us via the internet. We had a ukulele session with them and one of my fellow class mate named Nathen. They were really surprised by how good her was and I was impressed on how great of a chello player she was. Also this first Skype session went really wild because they were trying to set up the computer so they could all here us. It was chaotic but in a fun way because no one got mad. I hope for this to be one of many Skype sessions with them.

Fahrenheit 451 review up to 110
Fahrenheit 451 is a story about a man named Guy Montag who a firefighter who's job is to start fires instead of trying to put them out. Montag lives in the near future where reading a book is as bad as killing a man. He meets a women named Clarisse who ask him a question and that question was "Are you Happy?" Well Clarrisse gets caught reading and get burned alive with all her books by a man named Beatty who's Montag's boss. Later on Montag meets an ex-professor named Faber who helps Montag out with this reading situation that he's new at. Montag then goes to the firehouse to speak with Beatty. Later on the alarm of the firehouse rings and they go on the emergency. For some reason on this emergency Captain Beatty was driving and he usually doesn't drive. Next thing you know it they arrive at there destination. There at Montags house.
Today's day
Today in Dr.Preston's English class I learned something really neat. I Learned that it is more interesting when a student goes up in class and teaches you what we are doing today. Even the most simple thing that it might be when a student goes up in front of the class and teaches is pretty hard. So today when Justin went up in front of the class it to was pretty brave of him to do that. Hopefully Dr.Preston gives more opportunities to have a student teaches the class. It would be so FUN!

Literary analysis #2 Fahrenheit 451
1. What drew me to this book was my teacher Dr.Preston made us get it. I hoped that this book was going to be interesting unlike other books teachers had made me get and read.
2. What kept me reading this book was Dr.Preston telling how good the book was throughout the pages we've read, until I started reading it on my own and it actually got interesting.
3. My reading habits are read the book if I like it i will read and read and read until i just can't keep reading or my parents put me to sleep.

Fahrenheit 451 pgs 108-110
I just finished reading the second part of Fahrenheit 451 and it was an interest second part to this book. Montag is a starting to think for himself and is more interested in reading books instead of burning them. He is wanting to learn more in reading. He found a ex English professor named Faber. He forced Faber to help him learn more about books.
In pages 108-110 Monrag is in the firehouse with Beatty and other comrades playing a hand of poker. All of a sudden the alarm goes on and they have to leave to do their job. They all get in the salamander and went on. Montag was confused because Beatty never drove and for some reason he was driving. Montag got dizzy until all of a sudden he realizes they are at his house.........

Fahrenheit 451 questiones
1. The inciting incident of the story that I get within the first couple of pages is the fire. I think its the fire because it gives you signs of fire showing in the very first page.
2. Yes, I think he is a hero because the syntax of the story says it like he's fighting and being courageous.

Fahrenheit 451
The book Fahrenheit 451 is a really interesting book to read, but the words the authors uses is a little too weird for me. English has not also been easy for me so reading is not my thing. I've always had a horrible time with reading. I get sidetracked with reading.
